Suppose the message received by IRCTC confirming your
journey is deleted by mistake or you didn’t receive it because of network
congestion, you can again get the message just by logging into your IRCTC
account.
Click on ‘Print E-Ticket’ from your personalized login or
from ‘My transactions’, you will be prompted to enter your password. You will
be redirected to the list of booked tickets.
Click on ‘Get SMS’, you will get the SMS again on the number given while booking the e-ticket. You will get the following message displaying your mobile number and PNR number.
Also, there is an option to enter the mobile number while
booking for tickets, if you are booking for tickets on someone’s behalf give
their mobile number so that they can receive SMS directly. SMS tickets are only
valid if the sender is IRCTC forwarded messages are not considered as valid SMS
tickets and will be considered as travelling without ticket.
Thanks you
ReplyDeleteIf there limit crossed even though i want sms how can i get sms my ticket
ReplyDeleteyes you can. Just login to your IRCTC account and click on ticket you want. But it is not available for the tickets after the journey date or passed date...
ReplyDeleteGet SMS facility is available only 3 days before the date of boarding for this ticket. What to do?
ReplyDeletethere is nothing like that it will be available from the day of booking to day of journey I guess
ReplyDeleteHe(Kailash) is right!! Even i got the same msg while taking SMS!!
DeleteI had booked tatkal ticket for my parents and in hurry i forgot to edit the default phone no while booking. I thought by making use of get SMS facility, I can change the mobile no and sms will be sent to my father mobile instead of me.But its not happening. There is no edit option there.
ReplyDeleteIt cant be changed, the number which is present at the time of booking is the last, you cant edit further.
ReplyDeleteBetter you take print out and send or Fax the ticket if your parents are not there with you...
i was booking my tickt from my frnd's log in id but i didnt enter my mobile no and
ReplyDeletethe msg delivered to my frnd's no..... now i need the msg how can i get that msg on my cell phone ..........
Hi Shashikant,
ReplyDeleteit is not possible to change mobile number once the ticket is being booked. No other option than taking print out of ticket or email of ticket.
Hi shashikanth... just save that friend name as irctc (or what ever as it appeared on the original message)in your phone contact, and tell him to forward that message to your mob.. It will show up "irctc"
ReplyDeleteWhat if the tc checks the underlying mobile number?
DeleteIf you do not carry print of ticket, you are (were) fine Rs50/.
Now for forwarded sms, you are deemed without ticket.
In that worst case I agree with Arundas. I don't think TC will ever verify your current mobile number. I think valid Id proof of passenger is sufficient along with message in any mobile with the name LM-IRCTCi. :-)
DeleteAt the end this is just a text message which conains PNR number and other details.
hi
ReplyDeletei booked a online ticket .
but i m not getting irctc message for it..even though i tried it for resending the message.
but still no message came.
and their's no facility to complain for this issue also..
there seems to be some issue with SMS facility of IRCTC ...didnt get the SMS as well ....also they seem to have put a limit of 5 SMS per ticket and the 'GET SMS' facility can be used only 3 days from day of boarding ...
ReplyDeleteThank you
ReplyDeletei have entered wrong number while booking, how can i again get on different no.
ReplyDeleteis there a need to take signatue on the printout of the ticket from the railway office before boarding?
ReplyDeleteNo, not required on any kind of tickets except given by TC as other form of tickets are computer printed
ReplyDeleteNo signatures/attestations, u have to carry some identity proof in original and if booked in tatkal online carry the same documents whose details u have put in while booking, alongwith photocopy of printout of online ticket.
ReplyDeleteGet SMS facility is available only 3 days before the date of boarding for this ticket. This message implies that you can get your SMS on 29th, 28th and 27th if your journey commence on 29th i.e., 3 days prior to the journey date. So, if you try to get SMS on 26th for your journey on 29th, you'll get the above error message.
ReplyDeleteI have not receive sms even at the time of booking can i get it now
ReplyDeleteIs it not moronic on the part of IRCTC to insist on original sms only when the same can be easily shown as from IRCTC though from someone else?
ReplyDeleteCan TC then check if the underlying number is indeed IRCTC's?
If you do not carry the ticket print, you pay Rs50 but if you do not have SMS or show forwarded SMS, you are deemed to be without ticket.
Appears to be a case of epitome of moronic rules?
how to send e-ticket on new mobile no. if the registered no. is out of service?
ReplyDeleteThanks indeed.
ReplyDeleteJust put the sim in the phone in which you want to carry the ticket. Send the SMS again. This way you can get the ticket on any phone.
ReplyDeleteJUST SMS TO 139 : PNR TO 139 WITH THE MOBILE NUMBER YOU HAVE.
ReplyDeleteYOU CAN EVEN SEND SMS AFTER TRAIN HAS DEPARTED.
Thanks for your update
ReplyDeleteis there any way to get the msg on the number other then you entered at the time of booking your ticket
ReplyDeleteCurrently update mobile number after ticket booked is not possible.
Deletehow can i get the ticket in my mobile,, if my father has booked the tatkal ticket from the station counter,,,,how can i get the ticket bcoz i m in another state..
ReplyDeleteIt is not possible to get... You can ask your father to fax the ticket or at least the scanned copy of ticket. No other go as it is station ticket...
Deletecan only ers printout without sms be valid while travelling?
ReplyDeleteYes, ERS printout is valid even if you don't have ticket SMS in your mobile.
ReplyDeleteConcept of SMS ticketing is only for "To Save Papers"

ReplyDeleteHow can i receive ticket message to my phone number if i booked the train ticket at railway reservation counter?
